Hi:
I have found that if I access the forum directly ie. vdsworld.com/forum I will be logged in but I can't post any messages or log out. However if I access the forum using forum.vdsworld.com it works as it should. Not sure this helps.

The subdomain configuration has changed so they point directly to the
directory. The old system required frames to work, and the frames pointed
to vdsworld.com/forum

Using the subdomain will yield the same exact page but the cookies do not
interchange between the two.

Therefore, you were always accessing the vdsworld.com/forum page with
and without the subdomain but now it is different.

hi freezingfire and nick,

i just tried forum.vdsworld.com and it worked as it should showing the latest posts

i then logged out without viewing the latest posts and logged back in again, as a test, and the latest posts were not displayed which i would have thought should have been considering that i had not read them gggrrr.....

i will try using the forum.vdsworld.com url in any case and see if it works ok over time

This seems to be usual behaviour of this forum, though annoying. After any logout apparently all posts will be marked as read. This always has been like this for me.
