Quick question: Since VDS 6 has been 'almost here' for so long now I was wondering just how compatible with Vista it will be? (assuming VDS 6 ever sees the light the day) _________________ cheers

In theory *IF* I was testing VDS 6 on my Vista 64bit machine I'd say it's very compatible; *IF* I were in contact with CR helping them fix last minute issues before a public release.
It's coming guys, be patient. |

So, *IF* you personally could say that VDS 6 will be publicly available before Christmas 2007, would you?
-and-
*IF* you had direct access to CR and *if* the first hypothetical question were true, would you seriously recommend to CR that opening pre-ordering might be a worthwhile consideration at this time?
Of course the above is only relevent *If* you really were PGWARE |

I don't think their ordering system has anything setup for preorders, they could take the order but then manually have to process orders once vds 6 was released, or setup something automated to go back and process preorders. At this point I'd just let them release and buy then, no need to put more pressure on them to create more code and take time away from vds 6 final fixes.
I can't say 100% sure it will be released this year, because last year it was near 100% sure it would be out before christmas - never happened. But I was told give it a few weeks before vds 6 is released. So we have a few weeks before it may come out.
I did test the release build, it's solid and works very well. Julian did an excellent job on vds 6. There were some last minute issues that I found with it on Vista 64-bit and CR is fixing them; it's unknown how long it may take to find and fix the problems but I'll help them out.
As it stands right now, the product could be released to public within the next month and that's what CR are planning for. |

This is awesome news! Have any of the new features been discussed before, or must we wait until it is finally released to find out? _________________ FreezingFire

I hope the Vista 64-bit problems don't turn out to be too hard to work out. _________________ Joe Floyd |

I can't talk about features guys but there is a good deal of new stuff and a lot of vista compatibility.
It's supposed to be out this month but it very well could be pushed into next month.
It's out of my control really. |

It sounds very exciting and hopefully will be available soon. But - once the coding is done and fully tested, is there a lot of ramp-up stuff that has to be done as well? Like updating the manual, examples, updating of the website, new screenshots, maybe a new "box cover"? Hopefully that part won't take too long - _________________ Joe Floyd |
