Why on earth would anyone want a 3D GUI?

Jeez, it's almost enough to make me want to install Linux! Rolling Eyes

I yearn for my old OS/2 Warp 3 days! IBM still pisses me off when I think
of how they didn't promote OS/2 better.

For that fact, I might just set up a dos box with networking and internet
and just go back to Windows 3.1 ! I wonder what Win3x would do on a
AMD 2200 with 512 mb of memory? Twisted Evil

LOL!!! And I still have VDS 2.5 16 bit here also!!! ROFLMAO! I'd still be
able to tinker in VDS!

Crap! I'd be running more retro than Mac and his Win95 though...

You know what, forget all that. Let's all just go back to Dos and maybe
just use DOSSHELL and have some fun with batch files again. Laughing

Wonder if I still have Commander Keen and Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure
still sitting around Confused

This is an incredibly dumb stunt by MS on Win 9x installs. MS
leaves all networking protocols open to the internet.

However, you can solve this problem... Wink

Basically, all you must do is setup proper network protocols.
IPX and NETBEUI for your LAN, TCP and NETBEUI for dialup
adapter (NETBEUI is used for binding because 9x makes
unbound components "disappear").

9X instructions are here:
http://www.grc.com/su-rebinding9x.htm

NT instructions are here:
http://www.grc.com/su-rebindingnt.htm

The homepage link also has very good port security
testing. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure ...... wow that's a long time ago.
Would be nice to play it again, never quite made thru the last level.

Those were the days ..... every bits counts and the real wizards still wrote assembler coded programs.

I feel like I'm getting old Shocked

Ah, those were the days. If you read Peter Norton's IBM PC book and Ray Duncan's one on MS-DOS you knew everything there was to know about programming a PC.
