hello all

yes other evloop problem Sad I have played with this for hours i don't get any errors when i run this BUT it just hangs when you try to d/l a file..i'am thinking i have the else statments wrong or something Sad theses loopes within loops are hard for me to follow Sad

here it is

Code:

:EVLOOP
  if %%download
     WAIT EVENT, 1
  else
     WAIT EVENT
   if @EQUAL(%%About,Open)
    wait event
  PARSE "%e;%d", @event(d)
 else
       end
   wait event
   end
     end
  goto @event()

thanks

I assume you're wanting to use the timer routine if a download is in progress, and you want to check for the dialog ID if the About box is open. Try this...
Code:
:EVLOOP
IF %%download
  WAIT EVENT,1
ELSE
  WAIT EVENT
END
PARSE "%e;%d",@EVENT(D)
GOTO %e

Then, anytime you want to see if the About box is the dialog that created the event, just check the value of %d.

Try to debug the script line by line. Maybe you can see where it get stuck...

tim,

can i suggest that you write your code like the following...makes it easier to follow...

Code:

:EVLOOP
if %%download
    WAIT EVENT, 1
else
    WAIT EVENT
    if @EQUAL(%%About,Open)
        wait event
        PARSE "%e;%d", @event(d)
    else
    end
wait event
end
end
goto @event()

you can see then that there is a problem with your if's and end's: there is an end that you don't need and there is a else also that you don't need

Serge

In case you don't know, set the cursor at the top of the script and use the
F8 key to move line by line through your script. Smile

well i know what the problem is BUT not sure how to fix it.... if i have a ok button on that about box then if i click the ok button then exit the program i get a error in my close label....BUT if i don't hit the ok button and just close the about box then close the main window it works fine...i guess i could just take out the ok button and just close the about box BUT that is like taking a shortcut in my book....

i'am going to play with it a bit more then if i can't get it i will paste my ok button code and my close label code maybe you guys will see what i'am doing worng...

thanks

Maybe you are having problems with the fact that you use multiply dialogs... Be sure that if you closed a dialog, you use dialog select,0 to return to the main window...

I think you should do it right after the 'dialog close' command...

Tim, if you say 'Thank you', you don't have to add the '3000' part... Wink I only added it because some sites don't accept four-lenght names... Laughing
