Hello all,

I need some help. I need to gather a list of the registry keys that the
various versions of VDS utilize for ShinobiSoft Setup Wizard so it can
detect the path of VDS. This will be extremely helpful for all of us that will
end up using ShinboiSoft Setup Wizard to install custom products as well
as add-on tools for VDS.

Here's what I have so far:
Quote:

Vds 5 :: All 5.x versions
Reg key:: LOCAL\Software\Commercial Research\VDS\5.0
Key val:: Path

VDS 4 :: All 4.x versions
Reg key:: CURUSER\Software\SADE\VDS\4.0
Key val:: Path

VDS 3.5 ::
Reg key:: CURUSER\Software\SADE\VDS\3.5
Key val:: Path

Any help on this would be wonderful. Thanks in advance Wink

VDS 2.5 (32-bit) registry entries are under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SADE\DialogScript\2.5

However - I did not install VDS 2.5 or 3.5 on this OS (98SE),
just copied them from a backup - so I don't have a "path"
value for either one, but I assume that's where it should be. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

LOL, it wasn't by choice. Razz

If Win95 would access more than a 32 gig drive I'd still
be using it. 95 OSR2 is way more stable than 98SE - my
last 95 install was about 4 years old when my HD died
(and it still worked perfectly!).

Threatened to go back to 95 several time anyway - went
so far as to buy an IDE controller card to add more drives.
No guarantee I still won't... Wink

Finally got a util that removes IE from Explorer, but that
only slowed down the 98 crashes. Pretty much got 'em
stopped with a Windows Explorer replacement (although
media players etc. are still kinda wonky).

I also upgraded the MB/CPU though, so it may be partly
to blame for some of the quirks. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile

Mac, how about upgrading to a normal OS like Windows XP? Laughing Over here, it has never crashed and if individual programs crash, you can just close them down and restart them, without having to worry for other programs which are still running... Smile

Well, I was under the impression that 98 was better than
95, and I liked 95 just fine. Confused

If I had it to do over again I might try XP... LOL, who am
I kidding - if I had it to do over again I'd keep 95 and just
add more hard drives. Razz

But for now it's pretty stable - and I wanna work WITH the
stupid thing instead of ON it all the time. Wink

Cheers, Mac Smile
