Well the new server upgrade did not go without it's problems. The new server1 is having problems booting up correctly anytime the server is rebooted - which basically means I can't ever reboot the thing.
Am planning on getting another server to place the defective one. This means the move for server2 will take some time. It also means quite a number of you were not able to access vdsworld.com for the past 24 hours due to the new box being down off and on.
I've set the nameservers back to run on the original server1 but that will take 24 hours to work. The current box is running dns is is routing back to teh older servers; this will take 30minutes - 1 hour before everyoen will be able to access vdsworld again.
In the meantime all users on server2 are requested to backup their data ASAP. There is a hack out there for any php version under 4.10 installed and it's only a matter of time before vdsworld's forum is hacked.
I'm doing as much as I can here without sleeping to get the move over as fast as possible; but the problem with the new server1 obviously did not help the situation.
Am planning to get rid of the new defective server1 and replace it with a Windows 2003 box. Linux has been more of a pain in the a$$ then what's it worth; I'm going back to Windows for servers . |

yup ~. I really didn't expect it to be simple but I honestly didn't expect a new server to fail so quickly either |
