Does anyone have suggestions for web hosting? I have a client that wants
to change web hosting and I was trying to find a list of recommendations
from people here.
The price range my client is looking for is US $1 to $2 per month,
packages like US$7.95 a month will not suit my client.
Thanks. _________________ FreezingFire

have you looked at the web hosting offered by www.bravenet.com ...they offer free hosting with banners at the top which can be removed for a fee...not sure what it is...but they offer lots of great stuff one can use on their web site eg. polls, message board, newsletter, daily comic,...

1&1 has a great deal going on until Jan. 15 for their Professional hosting package. It's free for 3 years! Includes 500MB storage, 5GB xfer/month, 5 FTP accounts, MySQL, PHP3 & 4, 50 email accounts, etc. They don't even ask for a credit card # or bank info. Package is usually $29/month. _________________ "ah, come take my hand... we're ridin' out tonight to face the promised land"

Word of warning about low cost or no cost hosting - typically you'll end up on a bogged down overpopulated server, with download speeds of .5k a second, periods of downtime and little to no tech support.
As long as the site is for personal use this is okay however if you plan to host any type of business site I honestly suggest you go for a package that costs a little more then $1-$2 a month - as the old saying goes - you get what you pay for. |
