I will be releasing a program called Control PC 1.1.0 in the next few weeks.
What is Control PC?
==============================
It is something similar to url-run by CGingerich Software but Control PC can control your computer via email !
Send an email to a pop3 account which control pc will periodically check....
eg.
to: mypc@cool.com
subject: ADMIN:PASSWORD:SHUTDOWN
When Control PC checks its email account, and verifys the password is correct then it will perform the action.
You can set Control PC to email you back and ask you if you are sure? You click yes and your computer is shutdown.
You set what commands you can control remotely. You can request a list of commands via email from Control PC as long as you know the password. Also logs are kept. etc. etc.
What do you think of this?

| Nathan -- that sounds too cool! I like it since is seems very useful, and has two levels of security -- 1) having to know the e-mail address, user name and login, and 2) the confirm idea. Waaaay coool. Can't wait to try it! |

The general idea is very good. The system raises some security issues of course, since
plain email is not the most hacker-proof system on this earth. But combined with
a good encryption system this could be very useful.

I forgot to mention two more security features.
You can not run just any programs or commands you must specify these to ControlPC.
Also there will be a facility to send with your email to COntrolPC an encypted file attachment to verify your security.
