I bought a software package that allows my PC to communicate with my
cell phone for updating my phone book, but it also allows me to use my
phone as a modem thru a USB cable, which doesn't require me to have a
modem card or even an ISP! Cool

Actually you do have an ISP. The company that you have your Cell service through is acting as your ISP. I do this as well when I am either out of town or my broadband connection take a dive Wink My service is with Sprint and they are my ISP when I use my cell phone. Also you should be able to get a email address from the cell provider as well. Anyway this is prob. due to the fact that you have a Web enabled cell phone service. I have been looking at writting some applications for my phone and downloaded Sprints SDK for it Wink

I didn't think that my carrier was my ISP. BTW, I'm using SprintPCS as well Wink.

Dragonsphere do you have problems downloading with Sprint, especially
files larger than 1MB?

Bill,
I have not tried downloading anything other than web pages with it. I mostly use it just as a backup. Actually I have more trouble just keeping the battery charged since I have a Sanyo phone it's AC power connector is too close to the data cable input Sad I am looking for a USB cable that will use the USB power to keep the phone charged up.
