Hi Guys,
Just a thought. How many of you would be interested in eventually putting together some kind of "get together" for VDS enthusiasts? We could meet for a week to discuss and demonstrate VDS programming techniques, issues, and solutions. Even better, if we met in a beach location, we could hit the beach--and grab some Margaritas--too! 
Because I live in the Gulf Breeze/Pensacola (Florida) area, I would be more than willing to help put together something if any of you are interested in visiting Florida. You might even luck out and see some UFOs.

By the way... I have been a registered user of VDS since 1997. Although I do not consider myself an expert (having recently returned to working with it), I do consider myself somewhat proficient. How can I remove the "Newbie" designation next to my name on this board?

Thats really not a bad idea, but the community is pretty small so I'm not sure how many people would go.
As to the newbie issue, its related to the forum system. The more you post I think the further you go up in the chain of status in the forum software. |

That's what you get for staying away from us for so long.
But now that you are back, it's great to see some old school back with
us again. Hope you stay with us for a while to come.
The seminar thing would be great, but as others have noted, there's not
a very large active community here. That, and the fact that what
community we do have here is spread out from India to the Netherlands,
from Britian to Spain, from Canada to Brazil, From America to Australia.
And out of those, many are youngsters still in school, so you wouldn't
see them there. And since you're in Florida, it's too far for me here
in Tacoma, So let's see now.... You'd probably only have DragonSphere
show up there, and maybe if you're lucky, Prakash, but that might be a
bit further than he'd like also.
So let's see now.... You'd have a total of 2 RSVP's.

Hi Again,
Yeppers, I figured that would be the case, but figured I would put the idea forth anyway. I for one might consider attending such an event in Europe (or wherever the majority would prefer).
It is great to be back! I plan to stick around for awhile....

| VDS is developed in France, I wouldn't mind going up to France . Maybe we could drop by SADE/CR's office as well. |

And do what? Slap them around a bit for the IDE issue?

Ah... it's a matter of taste Sjoerd... 'Brie' and 'Camanbert' (don't know if i write it correct) taste great, but cheeses like Roqueford do taste too souer, I agree with that
I'd prefer that we would meet in Montpellier (Palavas). There's a great camping site there, just a few meters from the beach And a nice pub too, and a nice swimming pool, and some nice french girls 
But I think it would be better to go in the summer holidays, it's raining everywhere

'Brie' and 'Camanbert' aren't really made in France anymore if I'm right... Most of them are made in countries all over the world, just like what used to be with 'fetta-cheese'...

It should have been this "ah la france...le fromage and le babes"
